RTD sets start date of North Metro rail line

The Denver Regional Transportation District said Monday construction of the North Metro commuter rail line will begin in the spring.

The RTD board, which gave approval on Friday to a $343 million proposal to design and build the 13-mile initial phase of the rail line, is looking at a January 2018 opening date.

Denver Enters next phase of Brighton Blvd study

Denver Public Works is advancing to phase two of a parking and access study of the Brighton Boulevard corridor.

The project aims to find ways to improve the corridor as a main roadway linking downtown Denver with the eastern part of the city. It is one of six projects of the North Denver Cornerstone Collaborative.

Fixing I-70

The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to rebuild the crumbling elevated section of Interstate 70 in Denver, just east of I-25. CDOT would rebuild the interstate below grade and cover some of it with a park. That would help reconnect the working-class neighborhoods torn apart when the highway was built in the early 1960s.
