2017 Brighton Boulevard Reconstruction Roundup

As 2017 comes to a close, there is no better time than now to reflect on the work we have accomplished on Brighton Boulevard Segment 1 (29th to 40th streets), and look forward to the work ahead.

Kiewit, the construction contractor for the project, installed thousands of linear feet of new waterline pipe, approximately 45 new storm sewer manholes and drainage inlets, 14 street side stormwater planters and connected all Brighton Boulevard properties to the new waterline system. We are now over 50 percent done with the Brighton Boulevard Redevelopment project.

In 2018, Kiewit will install more drainage inlets between 29th and 31st streets, medians between 31st and 35th streets, traffic signals and light poles, curb and gutter, driveway pans, sidewalk, cycle track, amenity zones, landscaping and paving the 29th and 31st Street intersections.

For a bulleted list of construction efforts on Brighton Boulevard Segment 1 and 2 and the Globeville Landing Outfall Phase 2, view our online fact sheet.

Traffic impacts such as traffic shifts and intermittent lane restriction will continue while construction is underway. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain in place until substantial completion in spring 2018. Temporary lane restrictions may be required to complete work safely and on time. Impacts associated with each operation will be communicated as the start date approaches.
