CDOT and Kiewit Meridiam Partners Move Forward on I-70 Project

Kiewit Meridiam Partners (KMP) is thrilled to have been selected by CDOT to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central 70 Project, which, as most of you are well aware, reconstructs I-70 in Denver from I-25 to Chambers Road. Our team includes Kiewit and Meridiam; WSP (formerly Parsons Brinckerhoff) and Jacobs as design leads; and Jorgensen for operations.

We bring a proven track record of delivering some of Colorado's largest and most complex projects, including:

  • Denver Union Station’s transit improvements
  • I-225 rail line
  • Pecos Street over I-70 bridge replacement
  • US 34 Big Thompson Canyon emergency repairs, and
  • Transportation Expansion (T-REX) project—CDOT's only other mega-project.

We look forward to using that experience to make the building of this project as smooth as possible.

We understand all the work that has come before us, including many years of planning in the communities along this highway. A strong commitment to the community and keeping traffic moving on I-70 are the top priorities for the KMP team.

Preliminary activities like soil sampling, utility relocations and survey work are underway now but those have limited impacts to the public. Construction will begin this summer and is expected to be completed in 2022.
