Using data from the Community Partnership System (CPS), organizations with robust, continuous and academically enriching programs were identified. In addition, we focused on sites that provided programs for K-8 students located in high-needs neighborhoods. Surveys and interviews were conducted to examine organizational processes of collecting and utilizing data, assessing program quality and evaluating youth outcomes.
Each site fully participates in data collection processes and reporting, develops and shares best practices for program quality and incorporates program strategies recommended by the Denver Afterschool Alliance. Program staff are highly engaged in professional coaching and technical training provided by partners of the Denver Afterschool Alliance and participate in scheduled meetings that support a learning community.
Evaluating key data and “lessons learned” will provide a greater understanding of the quality interventions that are most impactful in supporting afterschool providers. The Denver Afterschool Alliance will use this information to:
