Key 2019 Performance Review Deadlines

October 28-November 8

Employee completes optional self-evaluation review.

  • Log in to Workday and check your inbox.
  • Complete the self-evaluation in the comments section at the bottom of each goal category.
  • In Workday, employees submit to supervisors once finished.

By December 2*

Supervisor conducts performance review of employee goals.

  • Visit the Writing Performance Evaluations page for Workday job aids.
  • Supervisors evaluate and rate performance against employee goals in Workday and add supervisor comments.
  • Supervisors submit to second-level supervisors once finished.

* Due to the weather closure for the City and County of Denver November 26, 2019, the deadline for performance reviews has been extended to Monday, December 2.

By December 6

Second-level supervisor approval must be completed by 12/6/19.

December 26 - February 28

Supervisors conduct meetings with employees to discuss performance reviews.

January 2

Managers will have a task in their Workday inboxes to conduct the performance review meeting with their direct reports. Managers should meet with their employee before submitting the review from their inbox. Once the manager clicks Submit on this To Do task, the employee will see the review and be asked to electronically acknowledge the rating. Managers can print the review in advance of the meeting.

December 2 - December 6, 2019 Next level managers approve and submit performance reviews.
December 9 - December 20, 2019

Calibration completed by agency approver.

Appointing Authorities give the green light to supervisors to begin delivering performance reviews/rating to their employees.

December 20, 2019 Final deadline for performance reviews to be fully approved in Workday for all eligible employees for the period of 1/1/2019 - 12/31/2019.
December 26, 2019 - February 28, 2020 Managers meet one-on-one with employees to conduct performance review meetings.
January 5, 2020 Merit increase effective date.
January 6, 2020 Merit increases launch for Workday for merit planners.
January 17, 2020 Final deadline for Appointing Authorities to approve merit worksheet in Workday and make any final changes/corrections to performance rating or merit increases in Workday.
February 3 - February 14, 2020 Managers deliver merit increase information to employees.
February 21, 2020 Merit increases, retroactive payments, and merit payment lump sums (as applicable) delivered on pay day.
