City and County of Denver:

  • Because the City is committed to the safety of all events, City Safety agencies are working together, in conjunction with OSE to improve the process for developing and obtaining safety plans for all events; occuring in Denver City limits.

Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE):

  • The Department of Environmental Health has changed the department name to Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE).
  • All events with amplified sound must understand and comply with Chapter 36 of the Denver Municipal Code.  For information on the city Noise Ordinance & requirements, contact Justin LaMascus at justin.lamasus@denvergov.org or 720-865-5528, your new contact in DDPHE.

Denver Parks & Recreation:

  • Don’t forget, Denver Parks & Recreation has a strict 60-day application deadline for submitting public event permit applications.

Department of Excise and Licenses:

  • There is a strict 30-day deadline for submitting special event liquor license applications

Denver Public Works:

  • In 2018, street closure fees will increase to 2% of full construction cost for special events. 
  • Don’t forget!  Public Works has a strict 60-day application deadline for submitting public event permit applications.
  • If your special event is held on a street(s) with protected lanes, you must work with with Public Works & your barricade company to have bike lane bollards removed.

Office of Special Events (OSE):

  • This year, OSE is developing and rolling out a more user friendly online Special Event Application.
  • OSE will host a new Event Planning Education Series, beginning February 7th, 2018!  For more information and event dates, click here for details.

  • The deadline to submit an Light Rail “right-of way access” permit has changed to
    45 days.
