VF Corporation signs on as Presenting Sponsor of the 2019 Sustainable Denver Summit

Locally headquartered outdoor & activity-based lifestyle company makes strong values statement as presenting sponsor of Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s 2019 Sustainable Denver Summit

DENVER – July 18, 2019 – VF Corporation, a global leader in branded lifestyle apparel, footwear and accessories, which recently moved its headquarters to Denver, is establishing itself as an engaged leader in Denver’s sustainability community by committing to be the Presenting Sponsor for Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s 2019 Annual Sustainable Denver Summit.
The Summit brings together nearly 1,000 sustainability professionals and leaders from across Colorado. It provides a platform for attendees to learn, connect, be inspired, and advance sustainability efforts in the Denver metro community. The Summit is put on by the Office of Sustainability, housed in the Department of Public Health & Environment, and will take place on December 5, 2019, at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver.
VF Corporation owns a diverse portfolio of well-known outdoor, active and workwear apparel and footwear brands, including Vans®The North Face®Timberland®Dickies® and Smartwool®. The company moved its headquarters to Denver this year and has since shown its support for this community and the surrounding natural resources through several initiatives, including signing on as Presenting Sponsor for the Summit.

Now in its fifth year, the Summit has become Colorado’s premier annual sustainability event. In 2015 Mayor Hancock conceived of the Summit as an event that would bring businesses, government and non-profits together, not just to learn about sustainability, but to make specific commitments that would move sustainability forward. Beginning with the first Summit in 2015, over 225 such commitments have been announced, many of which have since been performed. Most of the remainder are on track for completion.
The most recent Summit, in November 2018, had 860 registrants, over 50 exhibitors, and over 100 speakers.
