Agencies Partner for Summer Saturation Patrols

Officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff, Denver Police Department and Aurora Police in front of their vehicles

Denver, CO – Thursday, June 21, 2018 – Officers and deputies from three different jurisdictions are joining forces in Denver this weekend with a singular goal: Increasing traffic safety by stopping suspected impaired drivers.

This Saturday night and early Sunday morning, motorists in Denver should expect to see officers and patrol cars from the Denver Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Police Department conducting DUI/DUI-D saturation patrols. So in other words, if motorists are pulled over in Denver by an Aurora police officer or Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy – it’s legit.

The enhanced saturation patrols are made possible by an inter-agency agreement, which also includes the Northglenn Police Department, that helps to increase the number of participating officers. The agencies will again partner on impaired driving enforcement in Aurora and Jefferson County later this summer.

As always, the Denver Police Department encourages people to consume responsibly and plan for a safe ride – be it public transportation, taxi, ride share or designated driver.
