Daniels Fund Sponsoring Denver Police Recruits' Participation in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge and 5k Run

DENVER, CO – Thursday, March 1, 2018 – As an extension of the Bill Daniels Neighborhood Hero Award program, the Daniels Fund is sponsoring 50 Denver Police recruit officers participating in the upcoming Special Olympics Polar Plunge and 5k Run. On Monday, March 5, 2018, the Daniels Fund will present a $1,850 check to Special Olympics Colorado on behalf of the Denver Police recruit class, which covers their event registration and allows the recruit officers to focus on raising additional donations.

In addition to the check presentation, this event will include recruit officers training for the 5K Run and preparing for the Polar Plunge by dunking themselves in frigid water.

The Denver Police Department proudly raises money throughout the year benefitting Special Olympics Colorado, and raised more than $45,000 in 2017, earning the Denver Police Department the honor of Special Olympics Colorado 2017 Agency of the Year.
