All on-site (lobby) visitations at Denver Sheriff Department facilities are canceled, per the stay-at-home order instituted by Mayor Michael B. Hancock. To schedule a visit from home, go to For more information on remote visits, refer to the information below. Any on-site visitation information detailed below is null and void until further notice.

Professional visitors (officers of the court or court ordered visits) are encouraged to set up remote visits by creating a “lawyer account” through Securus, although it is not required. For more information on on-site professional visits, see "How Do I Prepare For A Visit?" below.

Schedule Visits Through Securus

Visitations for the both the Denver Detention Center (DDC) and County Jail (COJL) must be scheduled through Securus, at least 24 hours in advance.

New to Securus? 
Set up a new account on the Securus website or on a designated terminal in the visitation at the DDC or COJL.

Already have a Securus account?
Add video visitations to your account.

If you don’t have the resources to create or update a Securus account, registration kiosks are available in the lobby at either location.


Remote Video Visitations Available!

Remote video visitations can be scheduled through Securus (see above). This option allows family and friends to conduct video visits from anywhere, using the Securus app on a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Remote video visits are $8.99 + tax for a 30 minute visit and visitation hours vary by location (see below). Denver Detention Center (DDC) Visits

To schedule a visit at the DDC, you need to set up an account with Securus (see above). To conduct on-site video visits, you must go to the DDC to use a designated terminal in the visitation lobby.

If you're visiting someone in housing unit 2C, 2E or 2F, they are eligible to recieve walk-in visits, with up to one visit per day.

Hours | Frequency:
Remote, on-site, and walk-in visits may last up to 30 minutes, not to exceed two visits a week at one visit per day, and may occur within these timeframes: 

  • 7:00 am - 10:00 am
  • 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
  • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
  • 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

County Jail (COJL) Visits


To schedule a visit at the COJL, you need to set up an account with Securus (see above). To conduct on-site video visits, you must go to the COJL to use a designated terminal in the visitation lobby after scheduling through Securus.

Hours | Frequency:
Remote and on-site visits may last up to 30 minutes, not to exceed two visits a week at one visit per day.

On-site visits:  

  • Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 
  • 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Remote visits:  

  • Monday - Sunday
  • 7:00 am - 10:00 am
  • 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
  • 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Reservations MUST be made for all visits at the Denver County Jail, as walk-in and in-person visits are not offered at this time.

How Do I Prepare For A Visit?

Bring a valid ID (i.e., not expired) to present at time of check-in. Acceptable forms of ID are:

  • U.S. Driver License or state issued Identification Card
  • Active U.S. Military ID
  • Passport
  • Consulate ID

Be punctual:

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit to check-in, locate a terminal, and log into the system (you may log into the system for the visit one minute prior to the scheduled time)

No rescheduling:

  • Visitation windows are not moveable once scheduled
  • If you arrive 10 minutes late to a 30-minute visit, only 20 minutes for visitation will remain

If an inmate misses a visit:

  • If the visit is not cancelled prior to being absent, the inmate will still be charged a visit against their 2 visit per week allotment

You should know:

  • Visitors may be subject to warrant checks
  • Any damage to property or other criminal actions will be prosecuted.
  • Use of this video visitation system constitutes consent to recording and monitoring
  • Make sure to review the Visitation Rules and Dress Code prior to scheduling your visit (below)

Guidelines For Visiting An Inmate

Visitation Rules for Video Visits from the Facility Lobby

Familiarize yourself with our visitation guidelines prior to submitting your visit request.

  • Any person who smells of alcohol and/or appears to be intoxicated, or who appears to be on/under the influence of any drugs, shall not be admitted
  • Any person who does not leave the facility or grounds, when directed to do so by a Denver Deputy Sheriff, will be subject to arrest and charged
  • No offensive, loud, or disruptive language will be allowed–unacceptable conduct is cause to immediately terminate the visit and may prevent future visits
  • All minors/children must be properly supervised by a responsible adult at all times

Dress Code for Video Visitation from the Facility Lobby

All visitors must be fully dressed in appropriate, conventional clothing, that is not unduly provocative, suggestive, or revealing. Clothing must not resemble inmate attire or present adornments which could be used as a weapon. Visitor clothing standards include:

  • No bare feet
  • No short skirts
  • No swimwear or bikini tops
  • No halter or backless shirts
  • No spaghetti string tops
  • No muscle shirts
  • No see-through material
  • No gang, obscene, profane, drug or alcohol messages on clothing
  • No visible undergarments
  • No wearing hats in the visitor area (religious exception)
  • All shirts must have sleeves and completely cover the chest and shoulder areas
  • Shorts may be worn (mid-thigh length or longer)
  • Sports jerseys may be worn but should be worn over a t-shirt, or longer, if the shoulders are not completely covered

Visit Officers have discretion over the final decision as to what is appropriate for the visitor.

Visitation Rules for Remote Video Visits

  • No nudity 
  • No provocative (revealing) or tight clothing
  • No see-through clothing 
  • No visible undergarments
  • No blatant sexual actions 
  • No displaying of gang signs
  • No profanity - excessive and disruptive
  • No displaying of weapons of any type
  • No displaying of drugs of any type
  • No gang, obscene, profane, drug or alcohol messages on clothing
  • No display of being under the influence of illegal drugs or intoxicants 
  • No use of cell phone cameras or recording devices
  • No visits alone with individuals under the age of 18
  • No driving while using a device to visit remotely
