Denver to Replace 14th Avenue Bridge

As part of the Elevate Denver Bond Program, which voters approved in 2017 to fund critical improvements to infrastructure, Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI) will replace a 60-year-old bridge on West 14th Avenue between north and southbound Speer Boulevard to preserve and extend the life of the bridge. DOTI will also make safety improvements for those who walk and bike over the bridge adding wider sidewalks and a new, raised bicycle track on the bridge. In addition, crews will upgrade the traffic signals and pedestrian ramps on West 14th Avenue at the intersections of north and southbound Speer Boulevard.

Denver to Convert Walnut Street to Two-Way Travel

In a few days, Walnut Street in the River North community will soon have a new look and feel to help calm traffic and improve circulation in the area. In conjunction with recent repaving efforts, Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI) will convert a stretch of the corridor between Broadway and Downing from one-way to two-way travel. The conversion will create a safer street that reduces vehicle speeds, improves circulation for people walking, biking and driving, and better defines parking and loading zones.

DOTI to Resume Parking Enforcement Activities

On Tuesday, September 8, following observance of the Labor Day holiday, Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, or DOTI, will resume additional parking enforcement activities suspended last March due to COVID-19.

Denver to Recommend Consultant to Advance Bus Rapid Transit on East Colfax Avenue

The City and County of Denver is taking important steps forward on its Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which will help move more people, more efficiently on East Colfax Avenue. Denver has selected Parsons Transportation Group to complete the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and preliminary design for the project following an evaluation of proposals that were submitted by shortlisted consultants this spring. The City will now enter negotiations with the consultant and expects to bring a contract to Denver City Council for approval this fall.
