DPW Completes Paving Season

It’s the most *lane miles* Denver has ever paved in a single year…519 to be exact! With an additional $15 million from the Elevate Denver Bond Program, the city’s paving program grew by 20%, resulting in improvements to an additional 89 lane miles of street, or about 365 blocks, which is also 40 blocks more than originally planned at the start of the season!

Park(ing) Day 2019

On September 20, DPW and representatives from Denver City Council transformed three downtown parking spaces at 15th Street & Court Place into outdoor meeting spaces and areas to inform passersby about city programs and services. It was a huge success!

Evans Speed Limit Reduction

Denver Public Works is identifying stretches of roadway in the city where it can reduce speed limits to create safer travelling conditions. Speed influences both the risk of being involved in a crash as well as the severity of injuries that result from a crash. Denver’s Vision Zero Action Plan cited speeding as a factor in 53% of fatalities in Denver in 2015.
