Community Streets is a program through Denver Public Works Transportation & Mobility that permits community organizations to install temporary projects on City streets to promote community building, enhance aesthetics, and create an enriched pedestrian environment. Examples include artistic crosswalks and demonstration projects. Community Streets supports the implementation of IMAGINE 2020, Denver's Cultural Plan.
This program acts as the go-to resource to find all the needed guidelines, applications, and permits needed to get projects built.
Projects that receive permits through the Community Streets Program usually occur as a result of a community organization receiving grant funding from a local source.
These are projects that are permitted through the Community Streets Program. Some components of this program are still in development, which means that a streamlined application and permit process is still in the works. Be sure to check back periodically for updates.
