2019 Classes have ended!
Please check back in spring 2020 for the new Learn to Backyard Compost class schedule.
Organic material such as leaves, branches, grass clippings and food scraps make up more than 50% of what Denver residents send to the landfill each year. Instead of trashing these valuable resources, sign up for a free hands-on composting class and learn how to turn these materials into compost in your own backyard. Utilizing finished compost around your home and garden provides many benefits to your soil, lawn, plants and to the environment!
Registration opens one month prior to each class date, and participants are encouraged to register at least one week in advance of events to ensure proper staffing. All classes are held at the Denver Compost Demonstration Site, located in the Gove Community Garden at the NW corner of 13TH Ave. and Colorado Blvd. Street parking is available along Harrison St., one block west of Colorado Blvd.
