The transportation system within northeast downtown Denver is a complex transportation network that is designed to serve both local and regional travel demand. The Northeast Downtown Neighborhoods Plan (NDNP) identified transportation improvements that are intended to improve the area’s multimodal mobility in context to neighborhood connectivity and the greater transportation system. The NDNP was developed through a series of public involvement activities that began in 2010 and the final study was completed in May 2011.
The purpose of the Next Steps Study is to prioritize the transportation infrastructure projects recommended in the NDNP study and identify implementation strategies for projects that are feasible and/or appropriate. The study will be performed in three (3) key phases that are anticipated to be completed by the end of 2014.
