About the First Lady of Denver

As a proud native of Denver, Mary Louise Lee is honored to serve the city as Denver’s First Lady. Singing and performing since the age of three, Ms. Lee has become a well-known staple throughout Denver’s music and performing arts landscape. For over 20 years, she has built an extraordinary professional performing career, where she has performed nationally and internationally as an actress and a vocalist. www.marylouiseleeband.com
As a career coach, vocal instructor, mentor and coordinator, she has also been an advocate for children and youth, helping steer them to make positive life choices and preparing them for visual and performing arts careers.

As Denver’s First Lady, she combines her passion for the arts and youth through her Bringing Back the Arts Foundation and First Lady Artist of the Month initiative. From students to senior citizens, Ms. Lee is committed to being an ambassador for the arts to help expose and expand access to Denver’s vibrant arts and cultural communities.

Bringing Back the Arts Foundation

Art programs have systemically been among the first education cuts throughout our schools for too long.  That is why the First Lady will be working to bring back the arts in Denver Public Schools by dispatching local volunteer artists to schools, raising monies to hire more performing and visual art teachers and hosting special youth events. If you are interested in helping our City’s youth experience the endless benefits of being involved in the arts – and encouraging future superstars please visit facebook.com/bringingbackthearts or contact Tish Maes at Tish@bringbackarts.org for additional information.

First Lady Artist of the Month
To help promote local artists, every month the First Lady will spotlight two artists on this website as “First Lady’s Artist of the Month” and “First Lady’s Honorable Mention.”  If you are interested in nominating someone or joining the Nomination Committee, please send an email to Info@bringbackthearts.org
